Journalism has been an integral piece of my high school career. Without journalism, I would not have transformed into the student that I am today. Throughout my four years as a member of Lincoln High School's Journalism Academy, I have polished my writing, research, photography, and leadership skills. I have also developed new skills in management, layout and design, video, and ethics.

Creating this portfolio has been so much fun for me, as I have gotten to look back on my years in journalism and truly reflect on what it means to be a journalist, especially in this new America that we find ourselves living in. Rather than scare me into studying a different field, I stand by my decision to pursue a degree in Communications, because the world needs strong journalists now more than ever.
